Dog Frequently Asked Questions
Location, Hours, Tours and Airport Parking
Where are you located?
Paradise 4 Paws DFW is located at 3010 N. Airfield Drive near the intersection of 114 and Freeport Parkway minutes from the north entrance to DFW Airport.
How far are you from the airport? How does the airport parking and transportation work?
We are located on airport property near the north entrance approximately five to ten minute drive to the terminals, depending on traffic and which terminal. Terminal A is the closest and E is the farthest. We are just east of Freeport Parkway on N Airfield Drive. We offer onsite outdoor parking for $10/night (plus applicable taxes and fees) and take you to/from the airport via shuttle service. The transportation is complimentary with the use of parking. Reservations for transportation service must be made in advance.
What are your hours?
We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our regular hours of business are 7:00am to 7:00pm. However, there is always a team member on site to supervise our furry guests. We may not be at the front desk before 7:00am and after 7:00pm, so please call ahead to ensure we are at the front to let you in.
Can I take a tour of your facility? Can I just drop in any time to take a tour?
We offer tours at our facility daily by appointment. During holiday or other busy weekends, we are generally unable to accommodate tours because our priority is for the care of our guests but otherwise we welcome you to come in and take a tour. We ask that you make a tour reservation online or call to schedule an appointment for a tour versus dropping in for two reasons:(1) We want to ensure we have a team member available to show you what Paradise has to offer and to answer all the questions you may have regarding your beloved pet’s stay with us. (2) Any new people moving about the facility cause excitement/agitation among our guests, especially when they’re in playgroup. We give tours at specific times to minimize the disruption to our guests for their safety and well-being.
Can I bring my dog along for the tour?
We definitely want to meet your pup and understand wanting to see how he/she takes to our facility, but we do not advise taking him/her on the tour. Bringing a new dog around the facility will cause too much excitement for the guests currently staying with us and for your pet too! Instead, feel free to bring your pooch in for a ½ or full day of daycare to find out what we’re all about!
Reservations, Registration and Requirements
How do I make a reservation?
For new clients, we recommend calling us at (972) 456-0010 to make a reservation. You can also make a reservation directly via our website www.paradise4pawsdallas.com/reservation
How far in advance do I have to make a reservation?
In general, we recommend making a reservation AT LEAST a week in advance to give time for the registration process and a visit to the vet if needed prior to coming to Paradise 4 Paws. During holidays, we recommend making a reservation as far in advance as possible. We do, however, accommodate last-minute requests based on availability.
What vaccines are needed before my pet can stay or visit Paradise 4 Paws?
Rabies (one or three year protocol), Distemper combination (one or three year protocol), Bordetella (EVERY SIX MONTHS), negative fecal test (EVERY SIX MONTHS). We ask that you have your vet fax us the proof of the vaccines and negative fecal test, or we can call them for you to request a copy. We also require all our guests to be on heartworm and flea/tick preventative year round. A negative Heartworm test within the last 12 months is required. If your pet has tested positive for heartworms he/she is ineligible to stay until a negative heartworm test is achieved. If your dog is currently undergoing treatment, please contact us for potential accommodations.
Taking my pet to the vet is expensive enough when I have to do it once a year, why does P4P require the Bordetella and fecal test every six months?
Bordetella: Immunology studies have shown that some vaccines, despite annual booster recommendations by vaccine manufacturers, may not provide adequate immunological protection for the entire year. After the initial series of vaccinations for Bordetella, the booster vaccination interval should be every 6 months if the possibility of exposure occurs throughout the year.Fecal Test: Because we are an indoor facility, the guests eliminate on our indoor grass. We take great care in keeping our facility clean, but request proof of a negative fecal test every six months to minimize our guests’ exposure to potential harmful parasites that may be transmitted via feces. We can arrange veterinary visits for you. Please call to inquire.
What kind of paperwork do I have to fill out before my pet can visit Paradise 4 Paws?
We will either give you a hard copy or email you the registration forms, which include the enrollment forms, our rules and regulations, and a pet parent agreement. We ask that the registration packet be returned to us at least 24 hours prior to your pet’s first visit (emailed, faxed, submitted online or dropped off) so we can prepare for his or her arrival.
Does my dog have to be spayed or neutered?
No. We do accept unaltered pets.* However, if they are over 7 months of age, they are ineligible for playgroups and have individual playtime instead.*Please note unspayed females who are in season cannot visit Paradise 4 Paws during that time.
Do you have any breed restrictions/exclusions?
No. Guests are assessed based on their individual temperament.
Do you have to interview my dog?
An interview is generally not required. The registration forms ask for a behavior history – if your dog has bitten in the past, how she/he behaves in various situations etc. We highly recommend, but not require, a ½ day or day of daycare prior to any boarding with us so we can assess his/her temperament and eligibility for playgroup at that time. This trial daycare is 50% off!
My dog doesn’t get along with other dogs. Can he still stay with you?
If your dog is people aggressive and we cannot approach him, we cannot properly care for him. If he doesn’t get along with other dogs, we can provide individual play time. Many times, pet parents will have witnessed their dog’s aggressive behavior in different situations. Keep in mind that this is often because the dog is protecting their family and/or territory. A pet’s behavior here can be very different – they are not on their own turf, nor are they with their family. Each dog is treated as an individual – we determine how to best accommodate each guest with the health, safety and happiness of everyone in mind.
Doggie Daycare
How much is doggie daycare?
$20 for a ½ day (<= four hours), $30 for a full day (> four hours), multiple pet discounts apply. Discounts up to 25% are available through our Paradise Club membership.
What are the doggie daycare hours and days of the week?
Doggie Daycare runs from 7:00am to 7:00pm, seven days a week. During some holiday weekends, we limit daycare to Paradise Club Members only due to the number of hotel guests we have during those times. (See Playgroups for information on play time)

Do the guests ever go outside?
Paradise 4 Paws has spacious indoor play areas with canine grass so they do not need to go outside. However, we also have an a la carte service, called a “Nature Hike,” where we can take them outside on a leash.
Do I have to bring his food, feeding bowls, bed, and toys?
We ask that you bring the dog (obviously) and his/her food. We provide bedding and bowls. You are welcome to bring your own bedding, toys and treats if you wish. Please keep in mind that our guests are not supervised in their suites, therefore anything that may pose as a choking hazard should be avoided. If your dog is destructive or chews things up, we ask that you bring his/her own bed, otherwise you may be charged if the bed we provide is destroyed. Please note we do not accept any type of rawhide treats as it can be a choking hazard and is difficult to digest.
What if my dog is in the slumber party lounge and doesn’t get along with the other dogs staying in there?
Dogs that stay in the slumber party lounge must be highly socialized, get along with and not be disruptive to the other guests. If a team member determines that the slumber party lounge is not the best fit for your pet, we will move him/her to an individual suite.
Do you only allow dry food?
No, we can feed whatever type of food you bring – dry, canned, raw, etc. Rawhide products are the only type of treat we do not allow.
One of my dogs always tries to eat the other’s food and I have to supervise. How do you handle this?
We can either supervise or separate your pets at feeding times. Please specify either on your registration forms, or inform us at the time of check-in, if your pets need to be supervised/separated during feeding times.
Do all the dogs in the slumber party lounges eat each other’s food?
No. We supervise or separate the guests in the slumber party lounge at feeding times.
My dog is on medication. Can you administer that while he stays with you? How much does that cost?
Yes. Oral and topical medications can be administered free of charge. Certain medications (ex: injections, fluids, etc) are subject to an additional $15/day.
Playgroups & Webcams
Are dogs separated into playgroups based on size?
Guests are divided into playgroups based on size, temperament and energy level. The group your pet is assigned to depends on his/her size, temperament, play style and the dynamic of all the guests we have at the time of his/her stay.
Does someone supervise the playgroups?
Yes, Paradise 4 Paws Team members supervise playgroups.
How much play time do they get?
The amount of play time varies based on what playgroup your pet is in. Daily exercise requirements vary greatly from guest to guest and are a consideration when assigning playgroups. Typically, your pet will receive between three to five hours of play time a day.
Can I watch my pet(s) on the webcams?
Yes! The play areas, lounges and select suites have webcams that are accessible with a username and password given to you at check-in time. Cameras for the play areas are accessible from 8:00am-6:00pm. Slumber Party Lounge and Suite cameras are accessible 24 hours. Note: our webcams are not currently viewable on certain handhelds including iphones.
Why doesn’t my pet’s suite have a webcam?
Deluxe Suites and Oasis Suites are not equipped with webcams. Slumber Party Lounges, Executive Suites, Presidential Suites, and the Top Dog Suite are equipped with webcams. Please specify at the time of reservation if you would like a suite with a webcam.
